The Power of Music

An amazing story of Marta C Gonzalez, one of the world’s best ballerinas in 1960. She was New York Ballet Company’s Prima Ballerina. She had Alzheimer’s for many years. Before she passed away this year, she was given headphones to hear Tchailovsky’s Swan Lake, which she had performed in 1967. It was unbelievable to see her reaction.

A friend of mine once said, “I've read a journal of Neurology from OXFORD ACADEMIC. It mentioned Musical memory is considered to be partly independent from other memory systems. My mom had Alzheimer for twenty years.  I remember she would get very excited when she heard the songs she used to sing.”
